Meet Panda and @mitu_draws. Mitali found Panda as a frail, malnourished kitten. Under her watchful care and boundless love, Panda has grown up to be an adorable member of her family. She retorts that indie breeds have such potential but don’t really have the fan base they deserve.

You call them Indian Billi, Indi Mau, or Domestic Short Haired – our indigenous Indian cats can be seen everywhere. As per an article by IndiaToday, nearly 68 percent [almost 7 in 10] of the population say they see a stray cat at least once a week. There are nearly eight crore homeless cats and dogs in the country.
The adoption rate of these cats is very low due to several myths about them and also because they don’t have international recognition. We spoke to rescuer Shweta Bhagat who helps adopt Indie cats.

Our cat, Bonshi, is unhappy as we missed cleaning his litter box in the morning! ☹
An unclean litter box discourages cats from using it. Cats like their litter boxes clean just the way we humans like our toilets clean. It’s in our best interest to clean the litter boxes at least twice a day to encourage cats to use them regularly and not have litter box accidents.
